After a girl was born prematurely in a hospital, a young doctor commits medical malpractice when he seriously overdoses her with a drug. The baby suffered significant kidney damage causing her life long problems,was awarded $2 million (Amanda Bennett, reported in New York Jury Reporter).

A senior citizen with known vascular disease went into the hospital for bladder surgery and the nurses failed to monitor the pulses in his leg for vascular integrity. He loses his leg. His case settled for $950,000 (Soderquist, reported in New York Jury Reporter).
